Takashi Nishina Ph.D.

Takashi Nishina is a Junior Associate Professor at Toho University Faculty of Medicine, Japan. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Tokyo, Japan, under the supervision of Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue. During his Ph.D. studies, he investigated how constitutive activation of NF-kappaB occurs in pancreatic cancer cell lines. His postdoctoral research at the Atopy Research Center and the Department of Immunology at Juntendo University School of Medicine, Japan, demonstrated that reactive oxygen species induce Interleukin (IL)-11 production and promote tissue repair in the liver. Subsequently, Dr. Nishina was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Toho University, initially in Dr. Hiroyasu Nakano's laboratory. From this year, he continues his work in the same department under Dr. Katsuhide Okunishi. Currently, he is studying the mechanism of intestinal homeostasis mediated by IL-11-producing fibroblasts, with a primary focus on colorectal cancer and intestinal biology.

In Dr. Katsuhide Okunishi’s laboratory, Takashi Nishina is conducting research with the following team members:
