第48回 日本分子生物学会年会　参加報告

第48回 日本分子生物学会年会に参加しました。本年会におきましては、千葉大学の倉島洋介先生とともに、国際シンポジウム「Deciphering Fibroblast Molecular Biology: A Lineage and Multipotency Perspective: 系譜と多機能性から解く線維芽細胞分子生物学」をオーガナイズさせていただきました。本シンポジウムでは多くの皆様にご参加いただき、活発な議論を行うことができました。また、多方面から素晴らしい研究成果をご発表いただきましたシンポジウム演者の先生方に厚く御礼申し上げます。本シンポジウムが、皆様の研究の発展に寄与できれば幸いです。

加えて、本年会では、大学院生の須藤碧心さんが、「Interleukin (IL)-11の大腸上皮細胞保護における作用機序の解明」というタイトルで、ポスター発表を行いました。研究を始めて4ヶ月での成果発表となりました。今後、研究をさらに発展させ、より良い成果に繋げていくことを期待しております。また、写真は企業ブースにて、須藤さんが素晴らしい景品をいただいた際に撮影したものです。

また、本年会では初めて、マッチングイベント「隙間時間に隙間の細胞の話から始める共創と発想」を主催させていただきました。このイベントは、隙間時間を利用して、推しの細胞や研究を共有することで、新しい研究のひらめきや共創の場とすることを目的としたものです。学生からアカデミア・企業研究者までがテーブルを囲んで、ざっくばらんにトークを交わしていただけたことを、非常に嬉しく思います。本イベントが、参加された方々の研究の発展の一助となりましたら幸いです。(ちなみに写真は、私が会の趣旨説明などを行っているところです。)

Report on the 48th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan

I attended the 48th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan. At this meeting, I had the honor of co-organizing the international symposium "Deciphering Fibroblast Molecular Biology: A Lineage and Multipotency Perspective" together with Associate Professor Yosuke Kurashima from Chiba University. We were delighted to have many participants attend the symposium and engage in active discussions. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the speakers who presented their excellent research findings from diverse perspectives. I hope that this symposium will contribute to the advancement of your research.

In addition, at this meeting, graduate student Tamami Suto gave a poster presentation entitled "Elucidation of the mechanisms underlying interleukin (IL)-11-mediated protection of colonic epithelial cells." This presentation represents her research achievements just four months after she began working with us. I look forward to seeing this research develop further and lead to even better outcomes. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to host a matching event for the first time at this meeting, titled "From Interstitial Stroma to Interstitial Time: A Symposium on Co-creation and Innovation". The purpose of this event was to create opportunities for new research ideas and collaboration by sharing our favorite cells and research topics during breaks. I was very pleased that students, academic researchers, and industry researchers gathered around tables for casual conversations. I hope this event will contribute to the advancement of research for all participants. (By the way, the photo shows me explaining the purpose of the event.)
