第２回　線維芽細胞生物学ウェビナー　開催報告

この度、世界トップレベルの研究者をお招きした国際学術セミナーを、多くの皆様のご参加のもと、盛況のうちに開催することができました。

演者としてハーバード大学医学部のRamesh A. Shivdasani教授をお迎えし、東邦大学の仁科隆史と千葉大学の倉島洋介准教授がオーガナイザーとして企画・運営いたしました。

Shivdasani教授には、私たちの体を支える「線維芽細胞」という細胞が腸の健康維持に果たす重要な役割について、最新の研究成果をわかりやすくご紹介いただきました。これらの細胞は腸の正常な機能を保つだけでなく、様々な病気の発症や進行にも深く関わることが明らかになってきており、参加者の皆様にとって疾患理解を深める貴重な学びの機会となりました。また、最先端のイメージング解析技術についても詳しく解説いただき、研究手法についても新たな知見を得ることができました。

本セミナーには132名の方々にご参加登録をいただき、そのうち66名が東邦大学からの参加者でした。また、国内外の研究機関や企業の研究者の方々にも多数ご参加いただき、まさに国際的な学術交流の場となりました。特に心強く感じたのは、約40名の学生や博士研究員といった若手研究者の皆様にご参加いただけたことです。次世代を担う研究者の方々が世界最先端の研究に直接触れる機会を提供できたことは、大変意義深いものでした。

We are pleased to report that we successfully hosted an international academic seminar featuring a world-class researcher, with enthusiastic participation from many attendees.

We were honored to welcome Professor Ramesh A. Shivdasani from Harvard Medical School as our speaker, with the seminar organized by Takashi Nishina from Toho University and Associate Professor Yosuke Kurashima from Chiba University.

Professor Shivdasani provided us with an accessible introduction to his latest research findings on the crucial role that "fibroblasts" - cells that support our body - play in maintaining intestinal health. These cells not only preserve normal intestinal function but are also deeply involved in the onset and progression of various diseases, offering participants a valuable learning opportunity to deepen their understanding of disease mechanisms. Additionally, he provided detailed explanations of cutting-edge imaging analysis techniques, enabling us to gain new insights into research methodologies.

The seminar attracted 132 registered participants, including 66 from Toho University. We were also delighted to welcome numerous researchers from domestic and international research institutions and companies, truly creating a global platform for academic exchange. What was particularly encouraging was the participation of approximately 40 young researchers, including students and postdoctoral fellows. Providing an opportunity for the next generation of researchers to engage with world-leading research directly was deeply meaningful.
